4 weeks in London

Never before has an International trip been so mixed and a combination of so many things thrown in at the same time. Yes, no doubt my last year’s trip to Europe and America was amazing but this one had its own charm. After all I was going to London School of Economics for a course. This institute with abundant history and prestige was established in 1895. The minute I saw the board sneaking out of a narrow alley, I was jumping with excitement for couple of seconds and just couldn’t believe I was finally there. Taruna thought I had gone mad. After the registration they showed us the campus to be familiar with the area. That is when it all sank in. I was going to be here for 3 weeks and was looking forward to it enthusiastically.

There was so much I wanted to do, things I wanted to see and most of all was eager to learn.  I had a day off from my course and we were out on the streets of London like real tourists. We began our tour with the Wax Museum onto the Westminster Abbey and all that area around the London Bridge. The Abbey was absolutely amazing. The stain glass work and the sculptures were stunning. It gave us a sense of English history.

My course at LSE was really good. I was in awe of the facilities they had. Their library was state of the art. The exceptional and most appealing aspect of Western education is applying what is taught theoretically as part of the learning process. This is the reason why this kind of a system prepares you better for the real world. I enjoyed every aspect of the course. The lectures and the classes were very well structured. Our professor was Portuguese and our class had 70 students from all over the world. The various personal examples that were shared added to the knowledge and gave new insights to the subject. It was great exposure.

4 weeks just passed me by and there were still things I hadn’t done. I enjoyed every moment of my stay. It was exceptional. And a great learning experience. Just the kind I was looking for to take repose.
